League Meet Thursday at Oxnard High School

Thank you for you help last week at the meet.    This Thursday we travel to Oxnard High School for another PVL meet. It is a duel meet this time (just Buena and Oxnard)

Project Time is 1:00 pm (end of lunch)  Bus Time: 1:15 pm

Meet Start Time: 3:00 pm                 Expected Return to Buena: 7:30 pm

Double Duel League Meet on Thursday

Here is the info for our double duel with Pacifica and Ventura.   (this means we have 3 meets going on at the same time. Buena v Pacifica, Buena v Ventura, Pacifica v Ventura – each scored separately)

Expected Finish: 6:30 pm but we are done when we are done. All athletes are to stay until the meet is completed and we have cleaned up / put away equipment

Dress warm and bring extra clothes and rain gear. We are planning to hold the meet regardless of rain.   Thunder and lighting of course we would stop.

Don Green Memorial Track Meet Friday and Saturday

Thursday, March 7 is our first league meet.  Buena is hosting Ventura and Pacifica High.  Because we are hosting this event we will be looking for volunteers and donations.  Stay tuned for more info.

Where: Westlake High School- 101 Freeway South. Take the Tierra Rejada Exit and turn West. Follow the road around to the school on the right.

Project Time: 12:45 pm     Bus Time: 1:00 p.m.           Meet Time: 3:00 pm            Return:  9:00 pm

If you are not competing, you are expected to dress as if you are racing and take times / splits or help the coaches.

What to Bring: Uniform, Shoes- Training shoes and spikes, Sweatshirt / pants, Socks, Filled Water Bottle, Sunscreen, Healthy Snacks / Drinks, Sweatshirt, Sweats, cheering voice. There will be a snack bar available.

Buena Track and Field Apparel Orders

The Track and Field season is off to a great start. Great job to all of the athletes that competed in the freezing cold on Saturday night at the 805 Distance race!!!

Buena Track and Field is purchasing one team t-shirt for each athlete – Click this link:  Buena Team T-Shirt or go to the on-line store at http://www.mile26sports.com  and click on Buena > team t-shirt.  Please indicate what size your athlete needs.  We need this to be done by Wednesday Feb 20th to ensure they arrive by the first meet.

2019 Track & Field – First Update of season!

The track & field season is upon us, and we have a few announcements here for student athletes & parents:

The schedule has been added to the calendar, you can also download a copy HERE.

Our parent meeting is scheduled for TUESDAY, Feb. 12th at 6:00pm in the Buena Cafeteria.

The girls will be volunteering this Sunday (2/10) at the Hammer 1/2 marathon and 5k. We need at least 16 gir;ls to meet at the VUSD district office on Stanley @ 5:30am — and we should be done by 10:00am.

Additional Information:

  • Parking is $10 per car entering the park.
  • You may park at the entrance to Lake Casitas, but it is a 2-mile walk to the starting line. There is parking inside the park close to the start line, approximately ¼ mile. It maybe necessary for parents to park in the overflow lot inside the park. The overflow parking lot is close to a mile to the starting line.
  • You may go home with your parents, after the meet is over AND our team warm down and stretch. You need to check out with the coaches before you leave.

Snap Raise Fundraiser

Hi Bulldogs!

Our Snap-Raise Fundraiser is nearing the end. 6 more days.  We are close to our goal of $4000 for the girls and the boys have surpassed their goal of $4000.  This is one of our main fundraisers for out team. We are asking that each athlete send out a minimum of 20 emails in hopes that we each athlete will receive a total donation of $100. If your daughter or son has not sent their 20 emails, please encourage them.  This fundraiser can also be shared on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.



Where does our fundraising money go? Team Shirts, Entry Fees ($400 per invitational on average for both boys / girls teams), Uniforms (approx $30 per singlet), and EZ Ups- tents are just a few of the items purchased with our fundraising dollars.
